We accept consignments Wednesday - Saturday, 10:30-5:30, and Sunday, 12:30-4:30. No appointment necessary.
We are only able to accept 15 items per consignor visit (you may bring more, but we will cap our intake at 15.)
Please bring clean, laundered, seasonal items neatly folded in a bag or bin, not on hangers.
Please allow at least one week between consignment visits.
We do not accept consignments during our summer clearance sale (the first two weeks of September).
The consignment period is three months (90 days).
Consignors will receive 40% of the selling price of their items in cash or a check. If you use your money as Store Credit, you will receive a bonus of 10% on the money.
Consignors are responsible for contacting Dirt Chic to check on the status of their items and accounts.
If you would like your unsold items back, you must collect them within the three month consignment period; after that, they may be donated to local charities. We donate to a number of local charities and social service organizations, including Dress for Success, Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, 52 Kids, Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, ReSOURCE, Children of the Earth, Spectrum Youth & Family Services, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, First United Methodist Church, and the Howard Center.
Dirt Chic will set the price of items based on style, brand, age, condition, and relative to other items in the store. Please note that our prices tend to be lower than the industry standard; we are committed to making quality clothing affordable for everyone.
Dirt Chic may reduce the price of items if found to be soiled or damaged, or during sales. Dirt Chic has two annual, two-week half-price sales -- at the beginning of March and the beginning of September. All items older than one month will be discounted 50% during the sales.
Dirt Chic is not responsible for lost or stolen items -- unfortunately, items are shop-lifted from time to time, and we cannot reimburse consignors for those items.
