We accept consignments during our consigning hours only: Wednesday - Saturday from 11- 5, or Sunday from 1-4. We do not accept consignments on Mondays or Tuesdays.
Please allow at least one month between consignment visits.
There are three ways to consign with us:
1. APPOINTMENT: We will look through your items during your appointment and return any items we cannot accept for sale or that exceed our item limits (15 adult items and/or 25 children's items). You can make an appointment here, but feel free to call us if you're having any trouble.
2. SMALL BATCH WALK-IN: We will accept walk-ins for consignments of 5 or fewer items.
3. DROP OFF & DONATE DISCARDS: You may drop off items during our consigning hours without an appointment. We will look through your items at a later date and donate any items we cannot accept for sale or that exceed our item limits (15 adult items and/or 25 children's items).
For ALL forms of consignment: please bring clean, laundered, seasonal items neatly folded in a bag, not on hangers. Please pre-sort your items - we cannot accept items in questionable condition (excessive wrinkles, rips, stains, missing buttons, odor, etc.).
Please separate adult and kids' items into different bags.
We can accept 15 adult items per visit; you may bring in more, but we will cap our intake at 15. We can accept up to 25 items of children's clothing.
The consignment period is three months (90 days).
Consignors receive 40% of the selling price in cash/check. The money is worth 10% more as store credit.
Consignors are responsible for contacting Dirt Chic to check on the status of their items and accounts.
If you would like unsold items back, please let us know within the three month consignment period and we will pull them for you.Otherwise, they become store property will likely be donated to a local charity.
Dirt Chic will set the price of items based on style, brand, age and condition, and relative to other items in the store. Please note that our prices tend to be lower than the industry standard; we are committed to making quality clothing affordable to everyone.
A 50-cent buyer's fee will be added to the sales price. This reflects the extra work we often do to make items presentable - eg. steaming, polishing/buffing, removing spots, making repairs, etc. The buyer's fee will not be included in the consignor's percentage.
Dirt Chic may reduce the price of items if found to be soiled or damaged, or during sales. Dirt Chic has four annual half-price sales: the first two weeks of March and September and the first week of June and December. All items older than one month will be discounted 50%. We do not accept consignments during these sales.
Dirt Chic is not responsible for lost or stolen items - unfortunately, items are occasionally shop-lifted. It is an inherent risk of consigning, and we do not reimburse consignors for those items.
