A Note from the Owner
I love clothes. I especially love resale clothes. Probably too much. I had daydreamed about opening my own thrift shop, but never thought of making a career of it until an opportunity fell into my lap in 2009 -- at the gym, of all places. A member was selling her decades-old consignment shop, Pam's Place, and it got me thinking about the possibilities. I already had a full-time job as a television news reporter, but this seemed too good to ignore. So - one thing led to another, I bought the business, tweaked the look, vibe, and mission of the store to better fit my personality, and Dirt Chic was born.
Since that time we have grown - and outgrown - our original location. We've added children's, baby, and maternity clothes to the mix. And we've learned through trial and error how to build and run a business that makes me happy and proud.
At Dirt Chic, I've tried to create the feel of a boutique without the prices. We carry styles and looks for all ages and budgets. While I appreciate designer labels, I'm not as much brand-conscious as I am fashion-conscious. My hope is that everyone, no matter the size of their wallet, can walk out of my store with a great new wardrobe and the intention to come back!
