Covid19 Update

Dear Dirt Chic Customers and Consignors,
We wanted to reach out during this challenging time to both offer and ask for support. We know many of you are juggling a variety of challenges as you try and make the best decisions for yourselves, your families, and your communities. We, too, are facing many tough decisions and judgment calls.

We have decided to remain open for the time being. We have hand sanitizer available at the front counter and a public restroom at the back of the store for hand-washing. We are cutting back on staffing to reduce the number of bodies at the store and allow employees extra opportunities to stay home. And we will be limiting consignments; we will continue to honor appointments, but we are suspending the walk-in option for the moment. We know this will be an inconvenience for consignors who are hoping to unload their extra clothes, but given the warnings about minimizing social contact – as well as our reduced staffing – we need to make this temporary change.

We will be increasing our online activity, to allow customers to see some of the inventory from afar. We’re happy to ring through sales over the phone and hold onto the purchased items until you’re able to come in and grab them. We can also run them out to your car if that’s your preference. Feel free to call or e-mail us if there are specific items you’d like us to find for you. We can always send you pictures so you can shop remotely. And stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook pages to see what’s “in store!” With schools and some businesses closing, we know many of you will be operating out of your homes, perhaps with extra challenges. We’re here to offer up some retail therapy! Just let us know how we can help.

As a local business, we will try to weather this pandemic as best we can, knowing we will take a hit financially and in many ways we can’t yet predict. Please consider this as you move forward with your own plans – we hope to continue doing business with you in any way we can and emerge from this in one piece!
